Take A Personal Time Out

What do you need? Really think about it - what do you need right now? Speak it. Do you need a boundary in place, food, a moment of silence, a good cry? Whatever you need, you, alone, are the one who can get that for yourself. Mothers, tell your people what you need. Here are some ideas of things that you might need during this time at home

At our house right now, we’ve got to have space for work, space for school and space for just living. We’ve designated work and school areas, but I think it’s important to create space for rest and quiet for not just the kids and the rest of the family but also for you.

Give your loved ones a space to read this will give you the quiet time that you deserve so much, and your family will be so thankful.

Find a creative outlet everyone has to release the mind somehow, try wreath making start small with mesh if you are wanting to jump into a floral wreath then by all means do so.

According to The Chopra Center, “Meditation is an intentional practice, where you focus inward to increase calmness, concentration, and emotional balance.” I’m not sure about you, but I could use a little of all of that right now. I’ve seen lots of info lately how consistent meditation practice can lead to decreased stress and anxiety as well as help boost your immune system.

There is an incredible iPhone app called stillpoint, it was created by a mother of four Jen Prokhorov, she discovered an inner calm, greater awareness and a deeper presence. I'm not consistent in my yoga, but there are no limits as to when you can begin or even how long, you decide what is best for you. Stillpoint offers short meditation you can facilitate with your children.

Podcast are another way to meditate, one to tune into is The Pumping Podcast to hear Jen she has lead a guided meditation specifically for moms during this pandemic.

Time Out To Mask

This one is easy to do while multi-tasking! Wash your face and apply your favorite face mask. We’ve even seen some easy DIY masks on Pinterest with items you probably have in your kitchen. A mask won’t fix all of your problems, but it always make me feel like I’m taking an extra (and easy) step to pamper myself. If you really want to keep the kids in line, put it on in the middle of the day.

Make food for yourself

Our families coming first are at an all time high now, but that doesn't mean you can't make something special just for you. Lets face it majority of the time kids are too busy on their phones to realize we have made some delicious meal and you can eat in peace.

One Ritual

  • Making the bed
  • Savoring Morning Coffee or Tea
  • Mid day Meditation
  • Reading
  • Baths
  • Evening Cocktails

Make sure you have that favorite mug, legging or soft sweat suit and make it yours for the next few weeks.

Step Outside

Really go outside and soak up the vitamin D, even if it's in 10 minute intervals throughout the day. Did you know the air could actually destress you? Open up a window let in the morning air, it brings a freshness to the day.

Move That Body

Exercise is the best cure for stress, your mind and body will thank you not to mention you will love the results after quarantine.

  • Yoga- Tune into a youtube channel, or follow an instructor live on facebook
  • Peloton- If you’ve got the bike, you know what to do! If not, you can pay for the app and tune into yoga, strength training and even dance classes.
  • Beach Body- 30 minute workout
  • Out Door Bike Rid- Fresh Air and its Free

Hang in there, if all else fails pretend your sleeping that is a sure way to get some much needed quiet time. On a serious note chose what will work best for you and your family.
